HI & THANK YOU.  Established in 2005, Branding-by-Context (BXC) is a creative marketing and content development studio that helps solve problems by bringing fresh ideas to life.  We are producers, writers, designers, programmers, photographers, illustrators and get-it-done’rs. We’ve conceptualized and produced just about every type of communications project thinkable and we’re up for ANY challenge put on the table. HEY IT’S ME!

YOUR COMPETITIVE EDGE. BXC is also creative designer & brand director Drew Dougherty. Drew’s 30+ years of experience are garnered from working within consumer advertising agencies (FCB, Sicola Martin, DGWB), outdoor & action-sports manufacturer’s (O’Neill, Quiksilver), as well as global fashion & sports media (Surfing & Foam Magazine). Drew has been an invited guest speaker for students at UT, SCAD, LAC and talked on NPR’s MarketPlace. Drew also consults (freelances) with larger Ad Agencies & Design Studios directly and confidentially. In 1992 Drew sold his Harley (’82 WideGlide) for his first Mac. He lives with his wife and two grown daughters (one now works here 2 days a week.) He is an avid waterman, cyclists, outdoors man and a weekend farmer, beer maker and surfboard designer. In this collaborative exercise we can help discover, refine and define emotional motivations and strategically build the foundation needed to create powerful communication concepts that help you communicate and help you sell. With your unique DNA Strategy we can provide creative solutions that will inspire your team, retailers and customers. It’s not your normal creative brief.

I THOUGHT YOU’D NEVER ASK. Ad agency quality. Freelancer speed. We work per-project or on a retainer bases and we except credit cards (so flexible!). We follow the AIGA and Graphic Artists Guild’s industry standards & terms. We will happily consider whatever works best with your companies polices.

HERE FOR YOU. Since 2005 BXC has been serving clients from California to Amsterdam (with an occasional layover in New Jersey). We are located in downtown Dana Point just seconds from the harbor and surf, minutes from biking and hiking trails and less than an hour to the nearest ski-lift.
